“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)
One of the great privileges of membership at Community Church is to be used by God in service to others. We literally have hundreds of opportunities for individuals to exercise their gifts in serving this body as well as touching the lives of those in our community and faraway places.
Our Board of Ministry Directors is composed of devoted leaders responsible for building teams of volunteers to carry out the various ministries of our church. We encourage all of our members and regular guests to be involved in one or more areas of service that match up with their giftedness and passion.
Our Ministries
Celebrate Recovery (CR) – This healing ministry is for anyone struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups. CR provides a safe place to find recovery and freedom from addictive, compulsive or dysfunctional behaviors. This 12-step program acknowledges Jesus Christ as our “Higher Power.”
Children’s Ministry – Our goal is to assist parents in training up their children in the ways of God (Proverbs 22:6) so they can grow into passionate and faithful Christ-followers. We offer classes, nursery care, children’s worship, VBS, summer camp, children’s choir and other programs to enhance their spiritual development.
Community Kids Club (CKC) – This ministry reaches out to our community by providing an excellent Christ-centered Mother’s Day Out program. Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, CKC is led by a devoted and loving staff ready to partner with you in caring for your child.
Facilities Ministry – Our building and campus have proven to be blessings from God. Along with these blessings come many opportunities for maintenance and improvements. If you have gifts in the areas of construction, electrical, maintenance, gardening, painting, etc., this could be an excellent place for you to serve.
Fellowship – By coming together for special events and gatherings we can nurture meaningful relationships. Throughout the year we offer many opportunities to serve and bless those who come here for spiritual and social encouragement.
FRIENDS – This caring ministry has grown over the years to extend itself into the lives of hundreds of families and individuals. Looking to the needs of our own members as well as those in our community, FRIENDS is always seeking ways to share the love and compassion of Christ. If you have a heart for helping others, this may be the ministry for you.
Greeting Ministry – You never get a second chance to make a first impression so we are serious about making our guests feel welcomed and accepted. We are always on the lookout for additional smiling faces that can help us serve the needs of visitors and members alike.
Life Groups – It’s all about relationships. Every Christian needs a small group of believers who can encourage, support and challenge in their daily walk. Meeting in homes, our Life Groups provide safe intimate environments for living real life with real people. Life is better in community.
Media/PR – We live in a day of amazing technological advancement and these tools can be harnessed to promote the message and image of our church into the community. If you have gifts of writing, editing, computer graphics, or audio/visual skills this could be a wonderful place to serve our body.
New Members Team – Throughout the year, God leads new families and individuals into our fellowship. How do we help them connect with our church and build meaningful relationships? This ministry is focused on the needs of our new members and how best to serve them.
Recreation & Fitness – This ministry promotes the health and development of the whole person, both physical and spiritual. Sports teams compete with area groups and classes look at caring for our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit.
Security – The physical safety and well-being of every person who visits our campus is a high priority for Community. This ministry looks at all facets of security and safety from the nursery to the parking lot. These volunteers bring a wide range of experience and knowledge to make our church a safe place.
Wingmen – Pilots know the value of a partner flying by their side to guard their backs and give them support. In the same way, our men’s ministry is devoted to coming alongside men in our church to help them grow and develop into the men and leaders God designed them to be.
Women’s Ministry – Our ladies know what it means to be involved and serve. This dynamic ministry reaches out to assist women of all ages with a special view to strengthening the family. Classes, retreats, service projects and all kinds of special groups make this a great program to be a part of.
World Missions – Community is actively involved in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in many parts of the world. In addition to financial support of missionaries abroad, small groups from our church go to a number of different countries every year to assist with organized mission works.
Worshiping Arts – We are so blessed at Community to have awesome worship. While we rejoice over the gifted musicians and singers we already have, we are constantly looking for new talent and skills. Why not join our choir or volunteer your technical skills to help us with our computer and audio/visual needs?
Youth Ministry – Led by a devoted and dynamic staff team, our youth program not only looks to the needs of individual teens, but takes a family support view of ministry as well. Classes and special events look to the needs of the whole family to give them tools to grow together.
